Week in Review.

Granny's 87th birthday. Happy sun. Good food. Good friends. Good fun. Craftin' (of course!). And I got sick. Still have a few bits of yucko germs, but feeling MUCH better. OOH! Pocket Album

This is my newest favorite thing. I discovered it a couple weeks ago, along with the picture mosaic maker on flickr. 8 photos are printed onto an 8 1/2" x 11" piece of paper & folded into a cute little pocket album. You could probably even print it smaller & have a mini-mini-mini pocket album. In this example I picked out my most favorite pictures taken this winter.

I'm not a scrapbooker, & I'm not the greatest at organizing photos into albums. But THIS, I can do! I think, with just the right photos, they'd make sweet little valentine gifties.

Crutches Are Hot.

I just thought this was odd. In my Flickr account the photo with the most views--at 946 views as of this blog post --is not a cute photo of my awesome handmade goods. Nope. It's not even a wacky-silly mugshot, a snapshot of some cupcake crafty goodness, or even a pic of one of my droolworthy recipes. It's of me...with crutches. I find that very odd. Is this the new rage? Are crutches a hot commodity nowadays? Do these props cause such a sensation that I should be using them in every 'WhiMSy love' merchandise photo shoot now? I just may do that.....

'WhiMSy love' Does Watercolors!

I was up late last night & this image popped into my head. It's a concept in progress. Cup PLUS Cake EQUALS Cupcake. I thought it was cute & fun. I'll work on it though. Because I've already shown it to a couple people & they didn't get it. I love the look of it in watercolors. My favorite part is the moustache on the cup! I've had my paints buried in a crafty drawer & thought I'd resurrect them. I'm still learning, but am having so much fun!
And this is the first time I'm using photos from flickr. I guess "flickr law" says if you use your photo from their site it has to link back to your photos. Not sure how I like that, but we'll see.

Weekend Recap!

Hi blog peeps! I had a really nice weekend road trip to Lewiston, Idaho with the fam! The girls were on their best behavior, so that was a MAJOR bonus!

I got away on Saturday with my friend Tara & we went to a few antique-ish/thrifty spots. I got some fun vintage stuff I plan to put in the shop this week.

I even saw a beautiful rainbow!

Do any of you have a flickr account? I do. But, it's been pretty stale & unused for a long time. I just recently had the urge to get it going again. I've had a problem with my computer being OVERLOADED with pictures, so I think I'll take advantage of flickr's "pro" account & save my computer's memory--(a HUUUUGE pet peeve of Mr. WHiMSy love's!) There is so much inspiration on flickr anyway, so it'll be another fun resource! YAY for organization!
