Last night at Crafty Night my crafty friends & I made up some travel toothbrush pouches. I had seen these on Pinterest & the link led to an Etsy shop. But, you know how we crafty types are: "I can make that!"
When I travel, I REFUSE to use those plastic toothbrush travel cases, so I resort to plastic bags. They're no better. It's just gross, all the wet yuckiness in that plastic bag. Ew. I love these washcloth pouches becuase you can toss them in the wash to clean & because there's no wet stinky mess when traveling!
Supplies needed:
•Washcloth (I purchased mine at Walmart & they are sized 12" x 12".)
•Coordinating ribbon. (Aproximately 2 feet)
•Sewing machine with thread
•Scissors
•Pins
Here's the super easy tutorial...
How lovely and easy is that!
ReplyDeleteEven I can do it! :D
Thank you for the nice how-to.

just took a road trip for spring break and we all stuffed our toothbrushes in little wet baggies -- making some of these for our family and just pinned on pinterest! genius! : )
ReplyDeleteFantastic idea, can't wait to make this!! What a great gift for people who are going away on a holiday!
ReplyDeleteIs there something special you have to do to sew on terry cloth? My sewing machine makes the stitch on the front look fine, but the back turns into a mess.
ReplyDeleteI'm betting it's your tension setting on the sewing machine.
ReplyDeleteThanks. That did the trick!
ReplyDeletei accidently bought a hand towel instead.. will that still work??
ReplyDeleteHi Rynn!
ReplyDeleteIt would still work---it would just be a bigger roll, that's all.

ReplyDeleteMy mom's friend loved it so much she wanted me to make more for her to give out as gifts for Christmas. Who would have ever thought that towels make good toiletry kits. I do advise not to use to small of towels or it will not work out.
ReplyDeleteI love this. Going to make one. I used plastic bags but now all 4 of us will have out own when we go on vacation. Thanks
ReplyDeleteThank you:) These would be great to make for nursing home patients for Christmas presents! You can buy toothpaste, toothbrushes, lotion..etc. at the dollar store too!
ReplyDeleteThis is brilliant!! So much better than putting your germ infected toothbrush back into the plastic holder where it doesn't breath well!! I'm making each one of our family members one of these today!! This is awesome!!! Thanks for such a great project & easy tutorial!!
ReplyDeleteI made this last night. I liked it a lot. It will come in very handy camping this summer. My 5 kids love them so much they all want one to take to Boy Scout Summer Camp!
ReplyDeleteOnly thing they preferred was that the ribbon be sewed on in the middle. They didn't like the one I made with it on the side. But oh well, now I know. :-)
Easy to adapt into something to go in a diaper bag too..
ReplyDeleteI just came across your blog through Pinterest. As soon as I saw this project I loved it, found a flannel and made it straight away! It was so easy and will be great for traveling.
ReplyDeleteThat's a cool idea
ReplyDeleteI like this pouch. Thanks for sharing this post.
