10 Years.

Today is the anniversary of Mr. WhiMSy love & I.

He woke me up this morning before leaving for work & gave me the sweetest card. It wasn't one of those sappy, lovey, mushy cards either. That's just not us.

We joke about how we've been married for 10 LOOOOOOOOOONG years. It doesn't seem like yesterday that we were walking down the aisle. It seems like an eternity. This marriage stuff is freakin' hard work. I can't believe I've made it THIS far! And today, gosh darn it, I'm going to celebrate this milestone. HAHA!

The girls will be spending the night with some friends & Mr. WhiMSy love has been making plans that I'm unaware of. Later this afternoon I'll stick the girls in front of the T.V. to watch movies while I soak in a bubble bath, paint my nails bright colors & get all pretty for surprises.
Here's a conversation I had with Pazely, my 4 year old:
What is so special about today?
Yer celebratin' marryin'.
How long have mommy & daddy been married?
16 hours.
What did mommy say when daddy asked her to marry him?
"Do you wanna please dance with me?"
Do mommy & daddy like being married?
Yes, because you get roses.
Do mommy & daddy kiss sometimes?
Yes.
What do you think when mommy & daddy kiss?
You like it.
Are you going to get married someday?
NOOOOO!!!!!
Why not?
Because.
Well, when you grow up, you might meet a nice boy that you want to marry.
I don't want to marry ANY boy! I want to marry daddy.
How much does daddy love mommy?
Forever & ever.
How much does mommy love daddy?
Forever & ever.

Happy Anniversary Scott! I love you. Here's to 16 more LOOOOOONG hours!!

Kara's Virtual Baby Shower!

Hi there! Come on in my virtual guests & have a seat! Hi Kara! (Hi tiny-Spencer-who-is-still-being-handmade-in-his-mommy's-tummy!)

This pic is a 10 month old Nikki ready to get this party started!!!!

Please put a name tag on so we all know who we all are...

Kara's well on her way to having that kidlet soon. Oh, by the way--did you know that an elephant is pregnant for 640 days? So don't feel bad Kara, the "day" will be here before you know it! 99 days left!!

Speaking of babies...my twin nieces wanted to stop by & say hello! Please meet Abigail & Ruth...

On the buffet table there are an assortment of goodies to eat. Grab some munchies & punch. An appetizer you won't want to pass up are these Ham & Cheese Puffs. These are awesome little treats because they're easy to make & you actually freeze them & then pop them in the oven when you're ready! Bake ahead treats rock! (I couldn't find a picture of them on the internet. Probably because they get eaten so fast that no one has a chance for a photo!)

Ready for a game!? This is the ever-popular "Guess the Baby Food" game. I have taken pictures of 9 different baby foods. A list, in random order, can be found below the pics. Leave your guesses in the comment section.

Here are your baby food choices, in no particular order: peas, carrots, guava, prunes, peaches, sweet potatoes, papaya, bananas, applesauce.

And there will be a winner! I will place all the correct guessers in a hat & draw a name to receive
these lovely bits from WhiMSy love: a "Sassy Brooch" made of vintage buttons & vintage fabric, a wee blueberry pie magnet, a 4 pack of 1" vintage fabric pinback buttons AND a pack of those insanely awesome "fast-light" candles. Remember those from my wee one's 'tiny party'? (I have been DYING to share them. I went back to the store & bought the 10 remaining packs they had!) If there are LOTS of players, I'll draw a second name for something fun too!

And now for some gifties!!! Kara, I made a super sweet Wee Skullie Onesie for your little guy from WhiMSy love. It's embellished with vintage fabrics. It's a little larger in size, so he'll have to wait to wear it until he's a wee bit bigger.

And this small envelope accordion book is yours to keep.

It's filled with notes for you to fill in as a keepsake.

For dessert I baked up some mini frosted chocolate brownie bites. I couldn't resist the naked baby toppers. Yes, I do realize it does look a bit on the creepy side. But just go with it.
Thanks for coming to Kara's shower! Baby showers are not a familiar thing in the UK, so this is extra special that you all stopped for a visit & some fun! Love you Kara--& your little "bump" too! To make things less confusing we're asking that if you are hosting a baby shower on your blog for Kara, that you leave a link on her blog so there is one location to find all the fun! CLICK HERE for more wee fun!

I'll be gone tomorrow (Oct 2nd) & returning on the 5th of October! (Texas here I come!!!!!) So, the winners will be revealed on Monday the 6th. (You can vote until midnight on the 5th PST!)See you then!! (Oh, & Kara--I'll ship your package when I get back too!)

H.F.D.O.F.!!!

Happy First Day Of Fall! Yay! Fall is finally here! For those of you that know me, or at least virtually know me, you might remember that Fall is my most favorite season of all! And I created this little owl graphic as a Fall present to you. Feel free to copy & paste it to your autumnal heart's delight! (**Please only use it for personal use.**)

If you're passing through for a leisurely autumn stroll by way of the virtual party at Lisa's blog, a great big HAPPY FALL hello to you!!! (***pauses to throw leaves in the air, simulating confetti**)

Actually there are no leaves to throw around here. Though the crispness in the air is just beginning, the leaves refuse to come down--or change color for that matter. To simulate the Fall atmosphere, I may just have to climb right up there & yank some off.

I think my picture of Fall might be the same as others, but I'll share anyway....Crisp. Leaves. Warm baked goods. S'mores. Campfires. Sweatshirts. Cozy sweaters. Snuggling. Blankets. Hot cocoa. Apple cider. Pumpkin Patch. Hay rides. Orange. Red. Mustard. Golden. Plum. Hazelnut latte. Sleeping with socks on. Winter's coming...

This morning I baked some yummy pumpkin treats--as has become my tradition on the first day of Fall. You can find the recipe for these Pumpkin Cream Cheese Muffins HERE.

Later today the girls & I have planned a nice walk by the river. We're bringing a cozy blanket & will be sipping on cider & hot cocoa. And while the playground, no doubt, will call their name, I--in hooded sweatshirt--will be enjoying my date with Mr. Autumn.

Well, the wee one & I are off to deliver some goodies to friends & family! Happy Fall everyone!
