Cleaning: Day 3

Yeah, um, today's agenda for the cleanin' plan is the girls room. It's a tougher job than I thought because we are rearranging their furniture. I remember how fun that was to do when I was a kid! So, tomorrow, we're not adding any more cleaning to the list. I'm just gonna finish catching up on the last bits of leftover stuff. But look at the "after" of my girls art center in the dining room! Click HERE for the "before" post.
Anyway, Wednesdays are usual busy days for me. In fact, I gotta run the girls to their dentist apointments now. I bribed them with ice cream if they are good. Now, does that make sense? At all??

Cleaning: Day 2

This morning was my monthly MOPS (Mothers Of PreSchoolers) meeting. We had our once-a-year Spa Day. I got a massage, which felt BEYOND gooooooood. Also available to the moms this morning were: hair cutters, a chiropractor, a nail station, hand waxing, cosmetology, reflexology & yummy foods! We also had our first annual photo contest. (Remember those badges I made last week?) I even won one of the categories! YAY!
Because of my fun-filled morning I admit it's now about 4pm & I haven't even STARTED cleaning my living room/family room/dining room. But, I promise I'll get to it. Weirdly as it sounds, I often like cleaning in the evenings. It's usually a time when the fam is chillin' & I can get a lot done. And look at my girls messy art center in the picture below. (I'll get an "after" shot for ya tomorrow!) It's waiting for me upstairs right now. Also in the clean-up line-up: the game cupboard, the coat closet, some vacuuming & dusting. Not a heavy load. But I confess: I'm not even DONE with the kitchen from yesterday!! It looks so fabulous though. I love it! I still have to clean the junk out of the junk drawer (haha!), straighten up the "Tupperware" cupboard & clean the oven. I've got a lot on my plate so late in the day.
Oh, while beginning my fling with Spring Cleaning yesterday, I noticed all the Mr. Yuk stickers on my cleaning bottles. I LOVE Mr. Yuk! I remember him as a kid & I think it's SUCH a great poison control program. Even though I keep my cleaning supplies up & away in high cupboards, my girls know all about Mr. Yuk. It's a good idea to teach kids about poison prevention. To receive a FREE sheet of Mr. Yuk stickers, send a self-addressed business sized envelope to:

Happy Cleaning! Tomorrow's cleaning plan: my kid's rooms!

Spring Cleaning Bug

I know, I know. You're thinking, "3 posts in one day?!" But, all of a sudden I got the bug. The Spring Cleaning bug that is. I can't wait for Spring!! And I want to be ready to welcome it BEFORE it gets here. And, since my girls are off school all week--due to parent/teacher conferences, I thought I'd take advantage of my "free" time (& their capable helping hands) & clean, clean, clean. You know, that deep kinda cleaning. I thought I'd start with the kitchen first. It's the hardest-- to me anyway. And I like to get the hard stuff out of the way.I'm taking it one step at a time & one room at a time so I don't have a meltdown. Because cleaning, as you know, is not my first choice of things to do. EVER. If you'd like to join me, go right ahead! And let's reward ourselves! How about a new mat for the kitchen? Or a new set of handmade dishtowels? (I like this!) Or a yummy scented hand soap for the sink?
**And just a reminder! I have 7 participants so far in the Couch Cushion Cooties Contest! Send me a pic of your couch cooties to be entered in the drawing next Monday! You MUST send me a pic to be eligible for the drawing! Thanks!
So, put on some loud tunes & rock out while you're making everything all sparkly & shiny-like! Tomorrow's Cleaning Plan: The Living Room/Family Room/Dining Room!!
See you then!

That's One Sexy Vacuum You've Got There Ma'am...

I've had this totally random thought in my head & thought I'd share. Hope it makes you giggle...

I hate cleaning. I don't keep it a secret. But, my hubby LOVES a clean house. A clean house makes him SOOOO happy. Whether the house is clean or dirty will affect his mood. So, needless to say, he's grumpy a lot. HAHA! Not really.

I, in skimpy lingerie, will not receive the same jubilant response from him that a clean house will. I'm guessing that a huge turn-on would be me, fully clothed, with vacuum in hand. So, when I know my hubby will be arriving home from work today, I'm going to dig my bucket of cleaning supplies out of the back of the tallest cupboard in the hall closet & get to workin'.

I'm off to polish up the vacuum now. I think I might even dab some lemon scented Pledge behind my ears...
