Summer Break: Day 27

This craft just screamed "Summer!" to me. It is SO simple to make, too. In fact, I think I've pretty much decided it will be one of the activities the kid's make at Pazely's birthday party.
I originally found it in the Summer 2003 subscription of {once again, my fave}: Martha Stewart Kid's.

But the instructions are also available HERE, on the Martha Stewart website.

Zoey wrote up her own tutorial. Here is her awesome work:

  1. I am planning on doing this for Ebi-kuns birthday too, haven't decided what the target will be yet though :o)

since it is summer why is it that one of your girls is wearing a thick coat? (picture of her cutting the sponge)

  2. jojoebi---haha! I forgot to mention about that. She had just woken up from a nap & was cold. So she put that heavy coat on. I think she might not be feeling well though--with chills & such. Because it was HOT out today! She's a nut anyway & wears coats inside on random occasions.

  4. I have to say my favorite thing about this (aside from Pazely rockin her coat in the summertime) was Zoey's great tutorial. :) These snazzy sponge balls would surely come in handy for some type of painting fun..... hmmm..

  8. You are an awesome mom!! We have our "fun thing of the day" list done, and I just put together the spong ball. We are going to use them and the "hot potato water balloon ball" at my son's 6th birthday party. Thank you for all of your amazing ideas. :)
