Hot July!

For those of you that celebrate the 4th of July festivities, hope you had a most excellent day!!
It was QUITE hot here yesterday--between 100 & 104 degrees! Ugh. It's supposed to be the same today!! Double ugh.
To celebrate, the girls & I made brownies & decorated some white paper flag dessert picks that I got from my swap stash. That was fun! As you can see, we DID decorate a couple American flags, but mostly we decorated with polka dots (my 3 year old!), cupcakes , flowers & faces! I spent most of the day inside, watching the girls play in the water outside. I'm a wimp when it comes to the heat. And in the evening the girls pulled out their beachy chairs & watched the fireworks right across the street. We pretty much ate brownies all day so I'm surprised we didn't get sick!

I spent a LOT of time yesterday inside an air conditioned abode- doing, probably, the dorkiest thing ever.....I sorted my large stamp collection. Am I a nerd or what? It's not what you think. I seperated my stamps into different piles of colors because I am attempting a collage on a 10 x 10 canvas using some of my stamps. I'm so excited! Can't wait to share when it's complete!
**ALSO, Congrats to Amber who won the "Happy 33rd Birthday Reindeer Girl!" Prize Give-away from WhiMSy love & Reindeer Girl Designs!!

  1. OHHH Dogey It's hot here too! We had a very nice 4th as well... lot's different from last year! This year it was just us 5 and the dog...cooking out and lighting off fireworks, just "being" together. Very nice! Love the flags AND brownies! yum. (oh, gotta sneak in the winning picture plug... it's #2. So, if you want a chance to win go and leave a reply.)
