A bunch of nuffin'...

I totally didn't post yesterday. I was just too consumed with good times! So, before I share all my goodies with you, I'll start off by continuing my Grateful Days Challenge & give TWO thankful thoughts since I missed yesterday...

My first bit of thankfulness is for undiscovered talents. And this is totally gonna sound like I'm bragging, but I'm not! I just recently discovered that I could draw. My colored pencils are my newest gold mine & I get so giddy when I get a chance to sit & draw, which--honestly--isn't as often as I'd like. But it was a HUGE thrill to me when I actually created something from my drawings---the Christmas Cupcake Notecard Set. And when I sold my first set, I was ECSTATIC at thinking this was the first time someone has ever bought MY artwork! And I don't think I've ever shared this with anyone before, but the way I found out I could sorta draw was when I was pretty frustrated & angry & aggravated at something & so I grabbed my colored pencils, & a sketchbook (I had this "urge" inside to doodle) & I went to my mom's house. No one was home, so I sat & drew a.... chocolate chip cookie (which I know most of you have seen)! It's just funny where stuff begins. And the reason I'm so thankful for this is because it is another enjoyable place I can escape to when I need a break or have a minute or two to chill out.

I was sitting here thinking of the next thing I'm grateful for. I asked my 3-year daughter for some help. (Amazingly, this can be a great source for inspiration.) I asked her, "What is momma thinkful for?" And she said, "NUFFIN!" (Which means "nothin'" or "nothing" for those of you who need an interpreter). And she is right. Sort of. I'm grateful for those days when I have NUFFIN' to do. Yesterday was one of those days. I probably could have thought of a million things I COULDA done, or maybe SHOULDA done, but they didn't NEED done. And I think it is important that we make days like this in our lives--nuffin' days. Even if they need to be SCHEDULED into our week. Nuffin' days keep ya going on the un-nuffin' days. Am I making sense or have I been trapped in this house too long with toddlers?

Please stay tuned later today, because I'm going to share about this most awesome book I purchased yesterday while hanging with my fam & doing "nuffin'". AND, I am completing a really cool project that I can't wait to share! A double post day! WOO-HOO!
