The only part about the trip that was super lame was the flying. I have always enjoyed a bit of air travel, but not this time for some reason. I did find the view funny though. This is a photo of Pasco, where I was leaving....
...& this is where I was arriving in Phoenix.
I kept busy on the plane with my crafty travel kit. And I also kept busy by nibbling the most amazing cookies ON THE PLANET! Who knew? They are scrumptious & I'm totally going to their website & buying some!
I also found inconspicuous ways to distribute my biz card...
And, I played with my daughter's toys. That ole Etch-a-Sketch is a tricky little bugger to maneuver.
I DID celebrate landing & did a little air-traffic-controller happy dance at the fact that the puke bag went unused. Phew! And look at what was hanging above our heads as we were meandering down the escalators toward baggage claim. Cool! It's very tricky photographing something "UP" while going "DOWN". That's all I'm gonna say.
I really did eat at amazing restaurants & was taken shopping & spoiled at neato stores that I'd never be able to go to on my own. (Cha-ching?) Oh, funny story real quick. My mother-in-law & I were out shopping & needed to use the restroom. We asked a sales lady in the mall where the nearest one was. And these are pretty much the directions she gave: "Pass Chanel & take a left at Gucci." HAHA! And, here's a picture of me looking slightly & awesomely out of place. And nerdy.
I had a GREAT trip. I took a week-long break from blogging & Etsy & being uber crafty. I totally recommend that to everyone. Just a brief hiatus. And you are still allowed a small survival kit of crafty essentials. It was great to wake up to new surroundings that I'm not used to & see the world in a new creative way. You get inspired, sometimes without realizing it, by the things you see & do. I feel refreshed & ready to make some new things!
I've got lots more photos & things to share--some random & some drool-worthy. But, I don't want to overwhelm you with my summer vacay photo album.
Before I go, I have some EXCITING news! While on vacation, I sold my first print in my Etsy shop!!! That's a big deal to me! I mean, someone actually liked something I painted & paid money for it! That is so cool. And I know this might sound silly, but the struggle I secretly have inside to call myself "an artist" has now come to an end.
And now I will lure you into tomorrow's blog post.....
Did you fly Delta too? I HATE flying! Looks like you had fun. We have a Sprinkles near me. Can't wait to see your pics! Totally agree about the break. Sometimes you just have to recharge.
ReplyDeleteIn my family pale became chic when we had a daughter survive melanoma. I am glad you enjoyed Arizona.
