Summer Break: Day 50

This is a craft Zoey spotted right away while flipping through this month's issue of American Girl magazine. I spied the owl & birdie & HAD to make this one of our fun things of the summer!

We pulled out our pom-poms, hot glue, tacky glue, felt, branches (& other natural objects like shells, acorns, pinecones, etc.), scissors & puffy paint (for the eyeballs).
We used toothpicks to apply the glue. And hot glue to attach the creatures to their twig bases.

(Pazely holds a teeny-tiny shell to her ear & carefully listens for the sound of teeny tiny ocean waves.)

Pazely stuffed pom-poms inside shells to make hermit crabs.

She puffy painted their faces on.

Zoey added string to her birdies & hung them in her bedroom.

I made a fish too, but he didn't get his photo taken yet. I used driftwood, sea glass & shells to create a little sculpture for him to rest on.
