So I finally went to the library yesterday & returned a stack of books that were probably 5 weeks overdue. I intentionally took them in on a Friday because, (have I mentioned this before?), Friday's are "Free Fines Friday" or something like that. You don't have to pay any library fees if you bring your books in on Fridays! Apparantly they get quite busy on these days. Well, I think it's one of the greatest inventions ever! Now that the 'Wanted' posters can come down around town & I can show my face in that place again, I picked up a couple more Roald Dahl books: 'Matilda' & 'Fantastic Mr. Fox'. And I'm excited to read the 'Fox' book because it'll be one of those rare moments where my girls will have read the book BEFORE seeing the movie!
And speaking of movies, we saw 'Dispicable Me' last night. Super hilarious!! I loved it! And now I need some pet minions. And I want a fluffy unicorn.

It's SO FLUFFY!!! (Our favorite line from the movie...)
ReplyDeleteYep, that movie is great..and we've decided we must have it when it comes out on DVD. Fantastic Mr. Fox is another of our FAVORITE movies. It's quirky, and the music is awesome! My son has watched it at least a dozen times and read the book a few times too. Enjoy!
ReplyDeleteI think "Free Fine Friday" sounds like a great idea! Wish Richland did that.. poor Becca & the case of the missing library movie... has her fine up to almost $30!! For am ovie she didn't really like afterall... go figure :)
ReplyDeleteMy absolute favorite Roald Dahl book is "Danny the Champion of the World" which is sweet and a little sad and has so many layers that it is much easier to appreciate as an adult (as is the case with so many kids books). Anyway, I do recommend that one a lot. There is also a second Charlie book, Charlie and the Great Glass Elevator, which is interesting, but makes me wonder if Mr. Dahl took a lot of drugs while writing it. =)
