Summer Diary: Day 11: Road Trips Games

That's right! We're hittin' the road. (Technically, by the time this scheduled post hits the WWW, we'll have been on the road for about 2 hours. And I'll probably be asleep, drooling on my pillow.) Last year we took a mini-mini-mini vacay right when school ended & it was just so much fun to kick off the summer! We'll only be gone 4 days. So, as the Mr. says, "we'll be tourists on Red Bull", packing in as much interesting & fun as we can in a short amount of time. And, if you have any recommendations of things to see & do in Lincoln, NE, please do leave comments & share!!

For this road trip, I turned to the internet & a trusty printer, for helping me find (& print!) activities for keeping little ones occupied. I found a wonderfully fun Road Trip Activity Packet on the Family Fun site. Click HERE for that link. (I even printed an extra booklet for myself!)

The photo above shows an awesome Bingo game I printed from RACV (Royal Automobile Club of Victoria). There are 8 different bingo sheets, so I printed two sets—one for each of my kidlets, & then I stuck them inside of a ziploc bag & brought along dry erase markers so they can write on the bag & wipe it off!
(Saw that idea on Pinterest somewhere.)

I also stumbled onto a great activity pack from the Homeschooling resources on About.com. Click HERE for that link, where you'll find a 10 page booklet to print out. Or, like me, you can just print the pages you want.

I'm hoping the girls catch on to this Battleship game. I love battleship!!
Click HERE to print your own from MomsMinivan.com.
I stuck everything in a manila folder for both of my girls & tomorrow when they get antsy or I hear bickering, I'll shove these in their laps.

I still plan on blogging about our fun everyday while we're gone. It just might not be until the late evening.

Did we tell you how much we love your company? Because, we really do.
Thanks for following along on our summer fun!

I don't know how old your kids are, but the Lincoln Children's Museum is pretty great as well.
Morrill Hall on the UNL campus is the old school Nebraska Natural History Museum...hasn't changed much since I was there in 4th grade...

  2. Definitely Morrill Hall. My kids love to go there. The Lincoln Zoo is also nice for a small zoo. I know you've now seen the Omaha Zoo. Just don't compare them too much.
