1, 2, 3, FOUR!

It passed me by.
And I've been a bit too caught up with other things to make any formal mention of it.
Until now...
February 25th marked year 4 of this blog.

I feel so proud of this little blog. Time to brag now. (Hey, I never get to! I'm allowed, just this once....)
I've had over 1/2 million hits. I have thousands of visits each month. I have hundreds of fans. (Though most of you keep really quiet, I still love you.)

Thanks to all my readers. You make this girl feel important. And thanks to those who have written me lovely, encouraging emails & messages. You make this girl feel extra special with sprinkles on top. And thanks to those who comment. You make this girl feel like doing cartwheels.

My first blog post (found HERE) was fun to look back on. I dreamed of a space to call my own. "Someday..." I had said. Well, this year, I have my own space. It's mine! Mine! Mine! I don't have to share one square inch! No office-slash-art studio-slash-library-slash-etc. No slashes anymore!! It's simply my creative space. And I love it! So, yeah, I did celebrate with a bit of sparkling cider & Reese's Peanut Butter Cups. It was the appropriate thing to do.

And on top of ALL that....exactly 4 years ago (from today) I opened up my Etsy shop, WhiMSy love.
To celebrate, I'm having a sale! Through Saturday March 19th, everything in the shop is 40% off!
When chekcing out, just mention the coupon code 4FUNYEARS to receive the discount!
Look for new Spring Vintage Button Rings to arrive during the sale too!!

Our Night Out.

Mr. WhiMSy love & I had a really sweet anniversary date last Friday. He had a "theme" in mind & it was really cute. Our night was to be filled with all the things that we would've done when we were dating or first married. We saw a movie ('Taken' with Liam Neeson. Not really "romantic" but it was fun anyway 'cause it's been FOREVERS since we've seen a movie!), we walked around holding hands, got some photo booth pics & went out to eat.

I HAD to take a picture of a mini text conversation that Scott & one of his pals had that night:

We were very uncoordinated in our efforts to display the number "10" with our hands. Mr. WhiMSY love is showing "01". haha! And I'm yappin' & talkin' & tellin' him how to do things.
Wanna know where we ate dinner? At the very romantic establishment called "Wendy's". We used to ALWAYS eat there together when we were dating. We lived in Arizona, so we'd order our food & sit outside on the benches & eat it. I always ordered the same thing: baked potato with the works, chicken nuggets with honey mustard & either a side salad or a bowl of chili. Although, we live in the Great Northwest now. It's cold. We sat inside. It was super fun just being together--the 2 of us.
We usually try to do "date nights" once a week. I highly recommend it. We have family babysit (or trade babysitting services with a friend!) & go out for a couple hours. Sometimes we don't spend a dime, so it doesn't have to be expensive. And it's fun to be creative & take turns planning out the date.
Thanks for all the happy anniversary wishes & emails! Mr. WhiMSy love & I had fun reading them. It was very sweet!

10 Years.

Today is the anniversary of Mr. WhiMSy love & I.

He woke me up this morning before leaving for work & gave me the sweetest card. It wasn't one of those sappy, lovey, mushy cards either. That's just not us.

We joke about how we've been married for 10 LOOOOOOOOOONG years. It doesn't seem like yesterday that we were walking down the aisle. It seems like an eternity. This marriage stuff is freakin' hard work. I can't believe I've made it THIS far! And today, gosh darn it, I'm going to celebrate this milestone. HAHA!

The girls will be spending the night with some friends & Mr. WhiMSy love has been making plans that I'm unaware of. Later this afternoon I'll stick the girls in front of the T.V. to watch movies while I soak in a bubble bath, paint my nails bright colors & get all pretty for surprises.
Here's a conversation I had with Pazely, my 4 year old:
What is so special about today?
Yer celebratin' marryin'.
How long have mommy & daddy been married?
16 hours.
What did mommy say when daddy asked her to marry him?
"Do you wanna please dance with me?"
Do mommy & daddy like being married?
Yes, because you get roses.
Do mommy & daddy kiss sometimes?
Yes.
What do you think when mommy & daddy kiss?
You like it.
Are you going to get married someday?
NOOOOO!!!!!
Why not?
Because.
Well, when you grow up, you might meet a nice boy that you want to marry.
I don't want to marry ANY boy! I want to marry daddy.
How much does daddy love mommy?
Forever & ever.
How much does mommy love daddy?
Forever & ever.

Happy Anniversary Scott! I love you. Here's to 16 more LOOOOOONG hours!!

And The Fork Easel Goes To...

I almost forgot about the drawing!! HAHA!
I'm proud to announce the winner.....
Congrats to Kerry!!!! YAY! Woohoo! Thanks everyone for entering the drawing!

So, today marks the day--a year ago--when I officially opened WhiMSy love & filled the shop with goodies. It is so fun to look back on my last year & think that I actually got to make stuff & other people bought it. 184 items sold. That is so cool. I look forward to an even more successful year! Thanks to all my customers--you rock!

Tomorrow I'll be making cupcakes to complete my goal for March: make cupcakes from scratch. I've got the supplies & ingredients purchased & can't wait to get my cupcake groove on!!
I'm off to finish working on a "Happy Birthday" mini tag banner for the shop. All the crafty supplies are spread out. I'm sipping on some tea. I'm munching on some Girl Scout cookies (thin mints & peanut butter cookies if you really wanna know). My girls are quietly playing in the background. Ah, that's a lovely Sunday afternoon to me.
